In episode 59, you discover how to influence and persuade those you lead and your clients.
Here are 7 examples to get you thinking about how your clients may be influenced or persuaded.
- Research. Some of your clients are analytical. To persuade them, they need data and proof. Sharing how you have successfully helped other customers will benefit you. Clients look for trustworthy, knowledgeable individuals to educate them. Trust is the most critical factor leading to long-term relationships.
- Prove it. I need proof your product works! You can show them case studies of success from satisfied customers. We all have 2-3 clients that love doing business with us. Have them write a referral letter proving the success of working with you and your company.
- Emotional clients. Some clients buy emotionally and then back it up with logic. Persuaded them with creative ideas, different and unique concepts that make them stand out from their competitors.
- Risk takers. These clients love the Big idea. They will invest with you if they feel there is a significant return on their investment with you.
- Pricing clients. We all have them. These clients buy strictly on price. So you may have to present what I would call an Irresistible offer to move them to take action.
- Value clients. You have to give them more value in their minds to persuade them to say yes. Additional incentives to make it so easy for them to say yes. What else can you offer, so they feel they are getting more value?
- Relationship clients. It's more about the connection you make with the client. They trust your experience and expertise. They understand that you are looking out for them. You have a vested interest in them doing well. A win-win relationship when doing business.

Episode 57, Walking on Fire!

Lisa Thal is an Author, Speaker, and Business Coach. She wrote the book "Three Word Meetings." A Simple Strategy to Engage, Inspire, and Empower Your Team. Lisa coaches leaders on how to take their sales and business meetings to the next level with fun and interesting 3-word topics to get your sales team motivated and inspired. She has over 33 years of marketing and leadership experience.
In this week's podcast, I share three words I needed to walk across a hot coal fire pit barefoot—Patterns, Decisions, and Mindset.
The question is, why does one person walk across and others don't?
Why does one person succeed vs. others? Three words, Patterns, Decisions, and mindset.
Patterns - our brains receive information, we interpret it, and then we create a pattern. One pattern we all do is brush our teeth. We have patterns of exercising each day at the same time, patterns of eating at the same time, and going to sleep at the same time. In sales, we have a limited amount of time, and its important for us to create winning patterns so we can convert our clients faster. Let me ask you a question? What patterns have you created? The most successful people I know create winning patterns. Patterns of focus, in sales, focus on prospecting every day, patterns of connecting with these new opportunities, and converting patterns. You schedule time each day on your calendar, and nothing stops you—one important thing to keep in mind. You are not your patterns! What can each of us do right now? Create a pattern of progress! Program new thoughts, new ways of achieving what you want in life ,and in your business. Life is about growing and progressing.
Decisions. You have a moment of decision. You determine your state. Now can others influence your state? Yes, if you allow them. 80% of your success in anything you do is psychology, and 20% is mechanics.
In sales, 80% of your success will come from your mental state. If you tell yourself, business it tough due to COVID, clients don't have the money to spend at this time, then that is what you will get. That pattern of thinking is going to create days of frustration and very little income. You have to develop a habit of progress and persistence. You decide who you want to do business with, what ideas and solutions you will bring them. It is so critical to have certainty in yourself, your products, and your ability to help others. So decided which mindset you plan to live your life.
Mindset - 80% psychology! The biggest thing standing in your way of having the most effective mindset is the stories you tell yourself—these stories a belief, a feeling of absolute and certainty that you and I have about something. The stories like; I don't have enough time, I am too old, too young, I don't have enough training, I don't have enough money, I don't have the energy, I am sick, or I am tired. I can't, and I won't.
This is BS. Not the Bull S your thinking. It's what Tony Robbins calls BS - Belief System. Whatever you think it is - it is!
Today is a new day. Start to feed your mind with information that builds more confidence, more inspiration, more certainty. Stay away from the negative news, disempowering people. Close the gap of where you are, what you need to do to get there, and where you want to be! Tell your mind - its decision time, and when you say its time to go - you go!

Episode 55, If your income is down, so maybe your Confidence. In this episode, you learn the four C's to building more Confidence.
There is a four-step process that helps you discover what real Confidence looks like and what is needed to get there.
- Courage - all Confidence, all change, and all new things start with courage. Courage is making that phone call to that new business, without knowing who is going answer on the other line. Walking into a new business to introduce yourself to the owner or decision-maker. Courage is raising your hand, speaking up, and getting in the game instead of sitting on the sidelines. Do you have children? You have to be incredibly courageous to bring children into the world and take care of them. You didn't know and perhaps still don't know what the end result will be, but you jump in every day, learning as you go. Courage is something you have inside of you. Stay focused on where you need to go and go for it.
- Commitment - any significant changes require commitment. If you want to lose weight or get in better health, you have to commit to that, or otherwise, you'll fail. If you need to create more business or start a new job, you have to commit to that; or you will fail. Have you ever been successful at something you were not committed to? Whether it's your relationship, better health, or your business? Of course not! If you want a better relationship or create more revenue, you have to commit. When you take action and commit to seeing it through to the end, you are on your way to Confidence.
- Capabilities - Be honest with yourself, figure out where you want to go, and how you're going to get there. In most cases, you need to acquire specific capabilities to achieve your goals and dreams. If I want to become a better golfer ( and I do), I need to hire a coach or an expert. If I fail to take these steps, I will lose my courage and more likely not commit. I will stay frustrated with how I am playing. If you are having issues connecting with new clients, ask your manager for help. So get a road map from someone who has already been there to help you get there faster. Keep learning from each experience. Get excited about hitting a few roadblocks or challenges. Why? You can also access the path of courage to stay the course because you will be able to spot any future obstacles and know how to get around them.
- Confidence - You see, once you have those first three C's and take action, you finally reached the fourth C, and that is Confidence. Your Confidence then starts to grow. Have you ever been afraid of doing something new like public speaking in front of a larger group? Maybe making the necessary new business calls every day, even though you know you will face rejection? You obsessed over what could go wrong, but finally just did what you had to do. Now that is courage. Then after the experience ended, how did you feel? You felt amazing, I am sure and that you could easily do it again! Think about your top five accounts, and it started with picking up the phone, getting in front of them, and sharing your business solutions with them. Repetition is key. The more you do it, the more Confidence you build for yourself.
When you align the three C's, Courage, Commitment, and Capabilities to achieve one goal and one outcome, your Confidence will rise. Your self-doubt and the inner villain will fade away, and the real you will be in charge.

- What do you love to do? What inspires you each day and puts a smile on your face.

Episode 53, in this episode, we discuss how to transition from working remotely to returning to your offices.
What can you do?
Your time will come over the next few weeks or months, and you will need to go back to something that might resemble something a little different before COVID-19, I recommend starting your practice as soon as possible. Get up at the time you need to get up at, shower, get dressed, and allow the commute time to work. You may want to wear a mask, so you get used to the feeling of wearing it. However, you can structure your day to resemble the lifestyle you will need in the future, start by doing that. It's a habit, after all!
Boundaries are going to be crucial when you return to work. What do you need to feel safe? What do you need to succeed? Yes, you may feel a little anxiety when returning, and that is normal. Map out what you need to feel safe and productive at work. Ask your manager for help to guide through the process. My recommendation is to take it one day at a time. Recognize our world has shifted and be patient with yourself as you work through this process. When you feel a bit overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths, calm your mind, and keep moving forward, and remember we are in it together.
